Cardinals & Pinecones

Monday, December 20, 2010
Fair warning to everyone...I went a little nuts with the photos. I just couldn't help myself!

The inspiration for my CHRISTmas table. I love seeing the cardinals and do all I can to attract them to my yard. So beautiful and brilliant red! And their song is so lovely too.

The Northern Cardinal is especially fond of evergreen trees. Lucky for me, there is one right out side my backdoor and my kitchen windows looks out on it.

I get plenty of cardinal sightings and pinecones!

Okay, with so many photos, I need to just be short on words.

Merry CHRISTmas and thank you ALL for the warm friendship you have shown me throughout the year. I've enjoyed visiting with you, getting to know you and learning from you. May GOD richly bless each of you in the New Year!

Sharing at Marty's Tabletop Tuesday and Susan's Tablescape Thursday!

Hi, Gail. I am a new "follower" and appreciated the kind comment you made on my blog post. I, too, love all things "redbird"! As a side note...my grandfather grew up in Hastings and came to Mississippi in the 1920's, but the rest of his family remained in Nebraska. Small world, isn't it? Hope you will visit my blog again soon!Merry CHRISTmas.

A lovely Christmas table setting. Is the Cardinal invited to dinner? How charming it would be to have this small red bird sitting in the middle of the centerpiece singing for everyone.

I love those plates! I enlarged just to get a better view. The only thing that I love more than the plates would have to be the cloches in the centerpiece. I'm such a bird lover, and cardinals are my favorite. This table is just a natural winner to me.

    Merry Christmas Gail!

What a beautiful table you have made. I loved all your pieces especially the cloche centerpiece. Have a Merry Christmas.

  1. I so adore cardinals...spend many hours on my back porch watching them flit from tree to tree. They also bless me by perching on the backs of some of my patio dining chairs while I sit. For wild birds, they always seem quite comfortable with my presence. Your tablescape is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your charming design. Happy New Year! Cherry Kay
