Faith with FEET!!

How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:15

I want to tell you a bit about my sweet youngest daughter. First I want to say how BLESSED I am to be the Mom to 4 WONDERFUL (grown or mostly grown) children. I am proud of each of them -- they are remarkable people and I am always in awe that God trusted me with raising them!

Youngest daughter reminds me a lot of myself at her age (17) -- she is very passionate -- and loyal and so ready to push her sleeves up when she is needed. She has been a stanch pro-life advocate since she was old enough to understand what that was and all about. This was a position that really was tested for her last fall when a dear person in her life decided to take his own life. Recently, she befriended a young woman that she works with. This young woman, B., was expecting a baby and had made the very brave but heart wrenching decision to give her baby up for adoption. Daughter decided that she needed to be there for B. and she was and still is. B.'s baby girl was born last week. When there was no one else to be in L&D with B., daughter was. When baby spent the night in a room at the hospital with her adoptive parents, daughter stayed all night with B. She has made sure that any physical need B. had this last week was met and has spent many hours visiting with her. This afternoon I mentioned to daughter how proud I was of her -- she just brushed me off and said, *Mom, it is important that my FAITH HAS FEET*!! I LOVE THAT GIRL!! Mental note to self -- give your faith feet as often as possible!

  1. Amen~ you have done a fine job!

  1. Your daughter is THE best!

Truly a Blessing to see Faith being lived out...There is no better witness or testimony then that of a willing servant of the Lord called according to His good will and purpose..

This post made me cry. Right before I read this, I spoke on the phone with my daughter. She is 5 months pregnant and today found out that her baby girl has a heart defect known as A V Canal Heart defect. She was also told that the baby is probably a Downs baby. The sad part was that the doctors hinted that maybe she would want to end the pregnancy. Thank the good Lord, she wouldn't end it no matter what happened.

Thank you Lord for the decision that B made. Bless her now and throughout her life for her brave act. Thank you for this precious daughter that was able to help. Help me Lord to learn from her and to put Feet to my Faith.

  1. Hi there Gail, just found your blog and it looks awesome. And this post is AWEsome! What a touching story of a passionate young woman, what a ministry to this young, brave girl who is making a hard but important decision. I just about get goosebumps thinking about how the Lord is using your daughter. How awesome!

Be blessed. I've added you to my google reader, looking forward to more. :)

Gail, I know how proud you must be of your daughter. What a blessing she has been to her friend during this trying time.
You've apparently done a fantastic job with the children God gave you to take care of for Him!
Thank you for your prayers last week! I appreciate them so much!

  1. I cannot say anything any better than the readers before me. But I will say THANK YOU for sharing

She is one who not only talks the talk, but walks the walk. Well done, good and faithful servant!

  1. Gail, Please give that 17 year old daughter of yours with the most beautiful feet a big hug from me! This post made me cry... with joy for that little baby and adoptive, for sympathy for the darling and brave birth mom and for your daughter's precious spirit and friendship... and her feet. I say bravo to you for "raising her in the fear of the Lord" and for posting this. I am forwarding this to my son, a youth pastor.

I will always remember this post and those pretty feet with the painted toes in the cute yellow flip flops. They have given me a mental picture of "Faith with Feet!". I am sharing this at my bible study tomorrow.

Please tell your daughter her testimony (through you) will affect the kingdom!!!!! Praise God!
    xo Yvonne
