Hot Tea and the Common Cold

This post probably should come with a WHINE warning. I have come down with a cold. Just a plain, old run-of-the-mill, stuffy nose, scratchy throat, sneezy, drippy, achey COLD -- doesn't make me happy one bit. Grandbaby is to make his grand appearance VERY soon and I am to be in attendance at his birth -- hoping and praying this cold runs it's course quickly. Thanks for all the sweet emails inquiring about me and about baby. I am resting all I can and drinking LOTS of hot tea - my favorite cure all.

I'll have a low-carb recipe post up this weekend and am working on some more interesting posts for next week too. Anyway, thought I'd check in -- back to my couch, quilt and tissue box......oh, and another cuppa tea.

  1. Gail, go get some Zicam. Honest to goodness, it works. All homeopathic, no drugs. It claims to lessen the severity and reduce the length and it most certainly does. It works better if taken at the onset, but it will still help even if you are a couple of days into it. Over the counter, orange flavored lozenges that dissolve on your tongue. It will get you over that cold in time for the little one's arrival.

  4. Rest up and I am evangelical about the use of a Netti Pot. Saline mist is not the same at all.

  5. I feel for you. I came down with a bad one on Saturday night. I am still full of junk.

I believe it was Sunny Simple Life posted about how to stop a cold just yesterday.

I hope that you get to feeling better soon.

  9. Oh Gail...I do hope you feel better soon. I have a grandson home from school today (was yesterday as well) and he is having a terrible time with this junk that is going around.
I think I will make him a cup of warm tea. Stay in and take care of yourself... you've gotta make it there for this special birth.

  10. Gail I hope you are better soon and well for the arrival of the little one! I am just coming out of a cold this week. I spent the week in bed with hot tea, a good book and Gilmore Girls on the TV. I'm feeling better but it was a long week. Hugs to you!! Linda
