I try very hard to be a good hostess, but sometimes my nervousness and the fact that I strive for perfection ruins the experience for me. I find that if I take a relaxed attitude and don't sweat the small stuff, I, as well as my guests, have a better time. But, I'm still working on it! Ann

I try to do too much and I do not relax and enjoy my guests. Have fun with your folks and #1.

I have to work at hospitality. It doesn't always come easy to me...but I think the big thing is the warm welcome more than the look of the house, does that make sense? Have a great SONday, Gail :) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)

My Mom is a fabulous host!! I get so caught up in wanting evrything to be perfect or that things are exactly the way I would want them, or not that magazine perfect house that I really can't just relax and enjoy company. Really an area that I need to work on!!

This is an area that I need to work on in my life, my Mom is a fabulous hostess, she really has that gift but I get caught up in wanting everything to be perfect( and they aren't) I can't just relax and enjoy company.

I agree...I have to work out it. I enjoy company but it does take work. I feel my house is always a mess!! My grandmother is a wonderful host and I hope to be like her one day! She is always ready for company!

I enjoy having company, but must admit it makes me OCD. I keep cleaning and preparing till I'm totally pooped when everyone arrives. I can't seem to help myself.

When I was younger, it was something that came pretty easily. I loved to have people over, and I think I did a pretty good job of the whole hospitality thing.
Something happened along the way, and I'm not as good as I was. My confidence got zapped, and it wasn't until recently that I realized the source of it.
I'm trying to recify that.

I love to have company as all of my family has moved away. I am a feeder. I am always making loads of food which is probably not good for me to be tasting it all. Have a wonderful visit and enjoy the family.
