Fallen Leaves Table

Wednesday, October 6, 2010
Today's tablescape has a fallen leaf theme. I so enjoy the turning of the season and all the beautiful colored leaves. We don't get much of that here in Nebraska...this land is very hostile to trees which is why God made it prairie, I'm sure. When we lived in Minnesota, our property was full of oaks and maples and we always had glorious color. So, instead of enjoying the changing of the colors outdoors, I've brought it in and onto my dining table.

I started with the charger that Walmart is carrying this fall. I first saw these on another blog and just loved them...I've seen them on several blogs now...Walmart saw us all coming!

Next is a cream colored plate also from Walmart. I bought 24 of these months ago on clearance for .75 each. These come in handy when entertaining a crowd.

Isn't this fabric just perfect! It came from a large bag of yardage from Goodwill. There was enough to make.....

8 of these great oversized napkins.

And then a leaf-shaped plate. I have collected a nice stack of these over the last few years. I think they all are from Walmart and I have several different colors...just like leaf plates should be.

Topped everything off with a little boo pumpkin that my dear friend Rose brought me from her pumpkin farm.

Water goblets from Dollar Tree.

Vintage silverplate was a Goodwill find.

Votive Candle Holder was a clearance find last year at our local Hallmark store. I scored 2 of them for $1.00 each.

Cloche contains silk leaves and pinecones from Hobby Lobby.

A very thrifty fall table! Sharing at Susan's Tablescape Thursday.

Thrifty, but really lovely!! I think my favorite part is the napkin fabric. It's just perfect for this table and any fall table.

I also love those chargers. I saw them and resisted... for now.

Everything on your table just speaks of fall. I love it. We don't have much for leaf changing around here so I enjoy it on a table too!

I love the rich colors. I am so sorry that you don't have fall folliage in Nebraska. I should send you a big box of leaves!
But I'm sure that the prairie holds its own beauty.

Gail that looks lovely! What great fabric for napkins, and those leaf plates are so pretty! I am staying out of Walmart till those chargers are sold out! :)
I found some great fabric this week at a designer outlet and used it on my table. The designers go in the front, and the bargain hunters aren't allowed , they have to go down to the factory! Fine with me. I love hunting! :)
    Super job!

What a pretty table! I love your leaf plates and those pretty chargers.

  1. so pretty, I love the leaf bowls, I am always tempted to buy them this time of year but I really have no idea where to keep them. I am fast running out of space for dishes...or I have ran out of space is better said.
    This looks lovely!

I love the chargers.. wonder if they still have some... I love your table and yes you scored big time with the votives! Your table is very welcoming.. thanks for dropping in and leaving a comment.

  1. Your tablescape is lovely at any price...the fact that you found so many wonderful bargains is just a nice bonus. I loved your comment about the prairie...and the dirth of trees. In Oklahoma, we plant and grow our trees, and then the wind or ice takes them down...and we plant yet again. I'm always telling friends, "Folks, it's called the prairie for a reason!" Thank you for sharing your charming design and for stopping by my post. Come visit any time! Cherry Kay

  1. Hi Gail...

Oooh...such a beautiful autumn table, my friend! Don't you just love those autumn leaf charger plates? Oh yes, I had to get a few as well...you're right, Walmart seen us coming! Hehe! I love your pretty place setting, the different colored leaf plates just "pop" against the white dinner plates! Ohhh...and your new autumn dinner napkins are simply gorgeous! Gorgeous table, my friend!!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us today!

I also wanted to thank you for coming by and taking a peek at my "autumn tablescape in a basket". I enjoyed your visit and sweet note, my friend! Hmmm...where are you at in Nebraska? I am only 15 mls. from the Ne. border, living in northeastern Colorado. I guess we'll have to start calling each other neighbors! Hehe!

    Warmest autumn wishes,
    Chari @Happy To Design

Wonderful idea to bring the color to your table when you can't get it outdoors. I had no idea Nebraska didn't get a lot of color in the fall! I really like the photos of the homes at the top of your blog. Reminds me of my grandparents' farm in Sabetha, KS., not far from the Nebraska border. They've both passed on and the farm is long gone (it looks like suburbia there now), but the memories linger. Have a wonderful weekend.
